I only recently became aware of Nationmaster, and was not aware of any bad feeling. I did read your links but I was not able to find a good summary of the problem. Was there a transaction they handled wrongly? As far as their encyclopedia section goes, Wikipedia's 'Mirrors and Forks' page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Mirrors_and_forks/Mno#Nationmaster) shows their copied pages to be nearly, but not quite complient.
